A collection of my sculptural innovation

After winning a scholarship for art as a senior at Andover High School in Michigan, I realized that my fantastical sculptural pieces could be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. I always start by sketching out ideas on paper, which then take on their given form in hand-built clay, incorporating motifs from my culture and the natural environment. I am currently experimenting with different colored glazes on navajo, speckled moss, and black mountain clay. I create art in my backyard studio and finish in a ceramics studio.
